We have 5 children together, while two of them have also their own children.

How ever much we like and dislike but love our children, they will never be the fulfilment of our life’s purpose. They can fill our life with the risk of distracting us from meditation and reflection; but also they can be means for us to develop all kind of potential skills like attention, listening, caring; all kind of skills we need to develop to prepare ourselves to return to the Great Source of Love, Truth and Wisdom.

However, all these talents in ourselves which need development can also be developed by other means than by having one’s own biological children.

It could be helpful to consider if a wish to have children is pure or selfish, or if we try to design a pleasant present which fits in our list of needs and greed's.

Also consider, that if God lends us a child, we get a relationship with this child, which practically means that God is sending us a big packet of lessons, a long lasting course, even if a child passes away very young; not all easy lessons.
