Answers question 5.1

How could we imagine

Image I: This is how we could imagine the cosmos as it was before creation started (or before the so called ‘big bang’.). There was no matter at all. Spirit only; whole; All One. This we like to name Great God, God Beyond, Great God Beyond, or the Source (God as Itself, the Real, the 'Noumenon').

Image II: Here we see a minor part (light blue area) separated -more or less- from the whole. This is a group of spirits who dreamed strongly about the possibilities of creation (see Dreamland) The entities who stay there are the demi-gods, as for example, in Greek mythology. The big surprise for us however might be that we humans are demi-gods too, during in-between-life-situations (see In between lives)

Image III: In this image we see the development of a third area, which is creation as we know it, this earth with all the vegetation and animals and all the innumerable planets in the sky, and souls incarnated.

To understand an answer to the question ‘how to imagine the spiritual world' depends not only on the clarity of the answer but also very much on the capacity of our imagination.

As Buddhists can tell us, the light blue area (in Image II) has many layers. You can notice the same here on planet earth. Not only are there many species, but also within each species -like humans for example- there are many layers of development.

Nowadays, with the available pictures from space, it’s easier to visualise the universe; many planets, but mostly ‘empty’ space. This space, in which we are not able to see anything, is also filled.

Throughout history many religions and beliefs have described the ‘heavens and hells’. All these descriptions are true in one or another way. There are uncountable scenes and situations in the areas depicted in Images II and III. The simplest way to describe the cosmic spiritual world or universe is like an endless space, filled with an energy which scientists so far did not notice, nor measure. This energy we name pure Great God Beyond. Our soul exists out of the same energy.

In the basic cosmic situation (‘before the beginning’) there is nothing else in the universe than this energy; in other words we could say the universe is the totality of our souls. Better to say, when we were in Bliss, we also were ‘in Love'. So the cosmos was totally filled with the energy of Love.

Also we have to be able to imagine being without a body. Some people experience in dreams or in meditation freedom from their bodies. To be without a body is imagined or experienced by many people.

Have a look in the report (see Mellen) of a individual who has tried to put into words his experience of glimpsing varied layers of the spiritual world..
